MailVault

A personal, local-first email backup tool.

MailVault is a desktop app that keeps a complete copy of my own email on my own computer. It signs in to Gmail with Google's standard sign-in, downloads my mail, and stores it locally so I can search it, back it up, and clean up my inbox.

It is a private project for personal use. It is not offered to the public, there are no user accounts, and there is no MailVault server: nothing is sent to MailVault or anyone else.

What it does with Gmail access

• Reads my mail to save a copy on my computer.
• Only when I press the button for it, moves old mail that is already safely backed up to Gmail's Trash.
